I wanna go home!

Hey guys,
I've been thinking a while, and i still cannot reason out, why is it that our blog is so quiet.. Ahaha, anyway, that's besides that point, you know why, coz i am here to tell you guys, that we are having our outing during your holidays!!

Well, i really hope that all of you can make it, but as far as i know now, Russell, you cannot make it coz you have a camp! But, never mind ler, i'm sure you'll enjoy your camp. How about the rest of you? Can you guys make it?

\Daryl Goh, i've been trying to contact you for a while now, but so far like no respond from you. So, where are we gonna go this time?

Well, we are going out to the beach this time, maybe we should make it more frequent. So, on the 14 March Wednesday, let's head down to Sentosa. We will most probably play some beach games, relax at sentosa, and maybe head to vivo for dinner, and if money permits us, we'll watch a show or something too!

So, let's be there k!!!

Becoming of a man...

Hi guys!

Remember the question bout 'do you 16 to 26 years old is time you'll experience the most dramatic changes in your life?'

Well, as i have share with some of you, for me personally, it has been the most life changing time. From going to school with uniform to wearing street wear trying-to-look-cool clothes in college to dress down beggar-style in uni to shirt and pants while working. Its been verydifferent in each stage, aqnd in the 8 years, i have basically went through at least 8 different major phases of life. And that does not include the Christianity aspect of it.

Oh no...wanna go eat, hope i can update later

Armour of God

Hey guys,
Been a while since we last met, anyway, just a little update, i'm gonna get the book today, and we will probably start doing the book together on this coming friday. So hope you guys can make it this friday. I read through the first few chapters, and i can tell you, it is really exciting. Hope to get you guys into the mood too! So, this friday, is gonna be the first time we will actually run the cell like a cell. We are gonna have ice breakers, worship and also reading and using the book! So, hope you all will be excited! (Russell, pls try to make it this friday ok? Be a good boy la! AHahahhaha)

Ok, anyway, so i went for post encounter yesterday, and pastor mentioned something very true, DHL, so what is DHL? Discipline ----> Habit -----> Lifestyle.
Basically, in simple terms, for a human, it is a routine, we must first start with discipline, and this means forcing yourself to do something, then after a while, it becomes a habit, something that i will feel a bit uncomfortable if you don't do it, and finally, it is a part of your life that you cannot afford to live without.

So guess what, i thought about it and told myself, ok, i wanna change my style of quiet time. I wanna have like a solid 1 hour quiet time! But, as usual, it didn't happen, the positive side of it is, i had 45 min of quiet time!! Woohoo! And also, i really had to force myself to wake up at 5 just to do it, and if u do the math, if you wanna do for 1 hour, u wake up at 5, so if i did 45 min, means? I woke up at 5.15 am lo!aahahah, geuss where the other 15 min went to? hehe..snoozing the alarm clock. So, gonna try again tomorrow morning.

Ok, just a short sharing of my quiet time, Besically, it comes from Ephesian 6:10-18

And from this verse, i learn that satan can only have a foothold in youe life IF you allow him to. Because, we are not struggling against man, but against the dark forces (Wah, like star wars). So, when we struggle against things that happens daily, like whether or not to finish your homework, whether to go arcade or quarrel with parents or siblings, we are not struggling because these things are out to find trouble with you. But you are struggling to fight against the dark forces to live a Godly life!

So, from the verse, 3 points to help us overcome and prevent satan from having a foothold in our life.

1. Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power.
Know that God is above all, and since we are His son and His heir, we can draw power from God. Sometimes it is not easy to fight against thigns we know is wrong, so what can we do? Easy la! Ask God to help lo! You will realise after a while that prayer is very powerful, especially when overcoming temptation!

2.Put on the full armour of God
Belt of truth - truth sets us free, and holds us accountable and allows our life to be in one piece and not crumble and fall.

Breastplate of Righteouness - To have righteouness in our heart, the breastplate protects our heart and vital organs (in real terms). So having righteouness protects our heart from the evil one aso!

Shield of Faith - Faith allows us to move forward and fend off negative thoughts because when you have faith, you are believing in what you do not see, and therefore faith comes as a shield as it allows us to fend off the attacks of the enemy because we believe that God has already overcame sin for us.

Sandals of peace - When we have peace, we can move freely and not be tugged down by negativity of life! Woohoo!! dont you want it!

Helmet of salvation - The helmet guards our head and the salvationthru Jesus sets us free, so when we battle evil thoughs in our mind, know that the salvation thru Jesus allows you to be free and to overcome the evil thoughts!

Sword of the Spirit- The word of God is our weapon. We must have the word of God in our life to be able to charge agaisnt the enemy!

3. Be prepared!
Put on the armour of God so that when the enemy comes, you may be able to stand your ground! We need to be prepared with the armour because if we only wear it when we see the enemy attacking, we might be oo late and the situation may be chaotic. Imagine in a war, when you see the enemy charging, then only you start to get ready, what will happen??

So, Are you wearing the armour of God today?

Are you allowing satan to have a foothold in your life?
Which areas are you allowing satan to have a foothold?
How do you want to overcome it?

So, hope this will inspire you guys a little!!

Gotto work now! Lol..see you guys!

Basket Ball!!

Hey, for most of you out there who weren't able to make it yesterday, but we did have a lot of fun playing basketball.

After planning for 2 weeks in a row and the rain that kept preventing us from playing basketball, after much prayer... IT DIDNT RAIN YESTERDAY!! so...what does that bring us to, we got to play basketball.

Well, the game was kinda funny coz itz like the people who were there were mostly people i don't really know, and i'm glab i got to know this guy, Bo, from Korea. Well, his basketball skills is like mine, something like no skill, so we both ended up being like the no-shot-in-the-basket guys. Lol, besides him, Terence, Panu and Weilen, were the only people i knew.

And i was there thinking, hey, this people are really free on fridays, what can we do to invite them to join us, what can we do to attract them, is there something that we are missing out that is actually attracting the people from coming?

Boys, i need some feed back really, how is the cell group so far? Is the cell group something thata you all look forward to? Or is it something that you do out of a duty, like, oh ok, i'll come because chi wern asked me to come. Also, i alwayz though that i am young! Ahahahaha, i know i'm not, well, at least now i think i'm not, coz sometimes, i find it difficult to think of things that will interest you guys, and believe me, i really do find it very hard to think of thigns that will attract you all.

After going round and round, we have only been playing board game, soccer, basketball, LAN gaming. Is there anything else that can attract poeple to come? I need feedback from you all, because if you want to win castlegreen for God, we need to start coming up with events that can draw people.

Also, other than events, i think we also need to start praying more fervently for the people. So, i really hope that we can actually pray constantly for our cell group. And to keep each other in prayer.

Sudden urge to share more!

Well, i'm sitting infront of my computer, and i felt, hey, since i'm already at it, i might as well go all the way. Wanted to share a few things with you all.

Well, why did i put up this picture? Well, if you look carefully at the pic, at the brown color area, is where you can see the cloud and the sun while the rest of the area is completely blank. What is the reason to putting this picture, is really to remind all of us, to focus. See, the brown area is is where the focus point of the picture is, and when we focus, we will be able to to press through because we know where we want to head, what we want to achieve.

Like, Jesus for example, He is a very good example of someone beign very focused. When Jesus was praying at the mountain, He asked God the Father, God, if it is possible, please take this cup away from me, but not my will but yours be done. Well, at the end, Jesus knew that He has to go to the cross, and die and horrible death. Well, Jesus was focus, all the way until the cross, until the very end where He says, 'It is finished'.

What can we learn from Jesus, we can learn that Jesus is so focused that He endured all hardship, all pain, all shame, and became obedient even to death, for our sake. And Jesus didnt give up. He went all the way.

So, boys, let's learn to be like Jesus, let's be very focus in the things that we want to do. Let us endure, to pray until somehting happens, to pursue until, live love, and to praise, rejoice, endure, coz salvation is sure!

Well, a penny for my though!

Love,
Chi Wern
